Homemade Dutch Apple Pie Recipe from Arvin Home Inspections

pieCrust (use double pie dish):
2 cups sifted flour
1 tablespoon salt
3/4 solid Crisco

Mix until grainy, then add four tablespoons of water to form dough ball.
Knead in place.  Do not over-roll.

Filling:
10 medium Granny Smith apples, thinly sliced
3/4 cups of sugar
3/4 teaspoons of ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon of nutmeg
Add cinnamon to taste.

Pie Topping:
2 cups of all purpose flour
1 cup of brown sugar
3/4 cup of softened butter
Mix until topping forms granules

Let filling sit 20 minutes.  Add into pie crust.  Sprinkle pie topping on top.  Place in oven at 400 degrees for 1/2 hour covered with foil.  Remove foil and cook at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

For busy Realtors who are in a hurry and don’t want to make their own crust, use Pillsbury pre-made pie crust.
